Rock art – spirals

The set of engravings in a circular or spiral shape found scattered at different points on this outcrop are an example of Northwest Atlantic Rock Art, essentially characterised by circular cup and ring motifs engraved during the Neolithic-Chalcolithic era. This style is mainly made up of circles with a central hallow, concentric circles, spirals, labyrinths and geometric figures or forms which roughly resemble geometric figures filled with dots (Bettencourt, A., 2017).
