Preguiça Recreation Area

This verdant riverfront area, lined by an avenue of poplars received its name in the 17th century from the ancient House and Morgadio (Majorat) of Preguiça, belonging to Pedro Rodrigues Moreira, a nobleman with coat of arms. Current maps show us that the location now used as a recreation area was once made up of farming patches which were cultivated right up to the river bank.
